Streamlined Driver Work Logging App
Objective :
Make a simple web app for a new driver to easily record work hours without logging in. Anyone can access it through a link. Also, show the driver's hours in a neat table for the boss to see later.
Client :
The client is the boss of a company who recently hired a new driver. The client is not looking for a complex solution, but rather a hassle-free way for the driver to log work sessions and for the boss to monitor the data.
User Persona:
Driver: The driver is not tech-savvy and prefers a straightforward, user-friendly app that doesn't require any technical skills. The driver needs a simple way to record work sessions without the need for a login process.
Boss: The boss wants an easy-to-use app that provides a quick overview of the driver's work sessions. The boss values simplicity and efficiency and doesn't want to spend time dealing with technical complexities.
Scope:
Develop a minimalistic web-based application that allows the driver to:
- Access the app using a public link.
- Clock in and clock out work sessions.
- View a summary of logged work sessions.
Challenges :
- Designing a user interface that is extremely intuitive and doesn't confuse the non-tech-savvy driver.
- Creating a system that captures work session data without relying on a login process.
- Presenting the collected data in a table format that is easy for the boss to understand and review.

Driver :
For how the driver accesses the app, we've designed it with a special web address that's unique to each driver's name. This helps in cases where multiple drivers share the same user details.
For instance:
Website: drivewatch.app
URL for Driver: drivewatch.app/auth/drivername
Each driver gets their own URL like this, personalized for their convenience.
Boss :
The boss can also access the app through a unique URL link that's tailored to each driver's name. This way, it's easy for the boss to view the relevant information.
For instance :
URL for Driver Report: drivewatch.app/driver_report/drivername
Possible Issue(s) for this MVP :
Data Privacy: Security and privacy of driver work session data must be a high priority. Public access through unique URLs should not compromise the confidentiality of the data.
Public Access Security: Security measures must be in place to prevent unauthorized access or data manipulation through the public links.
Future Enhancements:
- Develope proper dashboard admin to manage driver users, permissions to view reports for additional bosses.
- Report view based on driver, date filtering.
- Report generation, sharing.
Driver :
- Adding basic validation to prevent accidental clock-ins or clock-outs.
- Exploring the option of sending an automated daily summary to the boss's email for convenience.
